Overview: Our Cyber Security Analyst Training Program is designed to help you start an exciting and profitable career as a security analyst.  If you are looking to upgrade your skills or begin a career as a security administrator or analyst, LeapFox offers one of the best three-month training programs eligible for GI Bill funding in the Northwest US.

Prerequisites: In order to make sure students succeed in this course we require they have taken our CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ courses or that they have equivalent working knowledge.

Phase 1: CompTIA Security+

  • Program Duration: 3 Weeks
  • Optional Certification: CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Difficulty Level: Beginner to Intermediate
  • Special Features: Exam Preparation Guide

In this course students will be introduced to entry-level cyber security concepts. This course assumes the student has already completed CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification courses or that the student has an equivalent working knowledge of computer, and network principles.  In this course students will implement, monitor, and troubleshooot infrastructure, application, information, and operation security. This phase will prepare students for the current CompTIA Security+ certification examination (SY0-501) if they choose to pursue it. The Security+ certification is the gold-standard for entry level Information Security jobs. 

Phase 2: (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems
Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Program Duration: 5 Weeks
  • Optional Certification: (ISC)2 CISSP Certification
  • Difficulty Level: Advanced
  • Special Features: Exam Preparation Guide

In this course students will get the most comprehensive review of information security concepts and industry best practices. This class will cover the eight domains of the official CISSP CBK (Common Body of Knowledge). You will gain knowledge in security that will increase your ability to successfully implement and manage security programs in any organization or government entity. This is an intensive course designed to give students the knowledge required to pass the CISSP certification exam if they choose to pursue it. 

Phase 3: EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

  • Program Duration: 4 Weeks
  • Optional Certification: EC-Council CEH v10
  • Difficulty Level: Intermediate to Advanced
  • Special Features: Build a Pen Testing Device

Our EC-Council CEH course will help you master ethical hacking methodology that can be used in any penetration testing or ethical hacking situation. This course will immerse you into the hacker mindset so that you can learn what attack-vectors hackers commonly use, how those vectors are exploited, and most importantly how they think. Knowing these things will make you invaluable in discovering an organizations weaknesses, and coming up with defense strategies to protect sensitive information. This course will have several hands-on-labs allowing you to put concepts to the test. Students will also have the opportunity to build their own personal hacking device using a Raspberry Pi and Kali Linux.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Certification Vouchers Included?

Yes, one certificaton voucher for each phase of training is included.  The vouchers are good for one year.  The Security+ and CEH exams may be taken at our Pearson Vue testing center.  The CISSP exam must be taken at a separate CISSP testing enter.

Can the Courses be Taken Remotely or Online?

No, all courses must be taken at our training center in Boise, Idaho.  Many out-of-state Veterans move to Idaho during the training program.  There are affordable housing solutions close to our training center.

Do you offer Job Placement Assistance?

Yes, LeapFox offers both internship and job placement assistance.  Many of our students receive job offers before completing their training program.    

Will the GI Bill Pay for 100% of the Tuition?

If you have 100% GI Bill eligibility, the VA will pay for everything–books, labs, training, and exam vouchers.  Our 3-month accelerated Cyber Analyst program will use 6 months of your GI Bill.  

Will I get Paid to Attend School?

Yes.  Our school is considered full time (18 hours/week) so while you are attending Leapfox, the GI Bill will pay you $1150/mo ($1050 for BHA and $100 for books).  You will receive your payment via EFT the first week of each month.   

The Registration Process

Certificate of Eligibility

Visit va.gov and obtain an updated copy of your certificate of eligibility. Verify you have enough benefits to complete the desired program. You will need two months of benefits for each month of training at LeapFox. If you haven't applied yet for your GI Bill benefits, you can do so here as well.
