Yes. Beneficiaries with Post-9/11 (CHP33) and Dependents Education Assistance (DEA or CHP35). benefits may qualify to utilize  benefits for approved preparatory courses. Veteran’s Readiness and Employment (CHP31), Montgomery GI Bill® (CHP30,CHP1606) benefits are not eligible. 

Tuition is paid upfront directly to the school. Upon completion of the course the student is reimbursed for 100% of the tuition. Form 22-10272, proof of payment, and proof of completion is required.

Form 22-10272 with verification of course completion, and proof of payment is required to request tuition reimbursement.

Form 22-10272 along with proof of course completion and proof payment is uploaded to ASK VA where it will be processed for reimbursement. 

Typical payment timeline is 15 – 30 days from date of document submission to ASK VA.

Certification exam vouchers are not included in the tuition cost.

Vouchers are available at a separate cost. The cost is reimbursable by submitting:  VA Form 22-0803 

LeapFox can coordinate an online proctored exam at the conclusion of the course if desired.   

Post-9/11 (CHP33) and Dependents Education Assistance (DEA or CHP35) candidates do not receive a housing allowance for preparatory courses. The tradeoff is flexibility to complete the program at a tuition discount and at an accelerated pace.

Traditional NCD (in-person) programs remain eligible for housing allowance.  

No. VA benefits cover the cost of the prep course and exam, regardless of whether you pass or fail. There is no limit on the number of times you can sit for an exam  or be reimbursed for an exam.

Certificate of Eligibility

Visit va.gov and obtain an updated copy of your certificate of eligibility. Verify you have enough benefits to complete the desired program. If you haven't applied yet for your VA benefits, you can do so on the eligibility page as well.
